On this exclusive photo tour, you’ll journey deep into Brazil’s North Pantanal for immersive wildlife encounters and expert-led photographic experiences. Track jaguars by boat in the famous Porto Jofre region, photograph giant river otters, hyacinth macaws, and caimans, and explore the open grasslands around Piuval Lodge for giant anteaters and the iconic Pantaneiro cowboys.
With private boats, open safari vehicles, and the support of experienced local trackers and a professional Legend Safaris photographic guide, this tour is designed for serious wildlife photographers and nature lovers alike. Itinerary
Day 2 – Journey to Porto Jofre
After breakfast, meet your guide before departing on a scenic drive to Porto Jofre (approximately 5–6 hours) along the iconic Transpantaneira Highway, widely regarded as one of South America’s finest wildlife corridors.
Along the way, we’ll make several carefully selected stops for wildlife viewing and photography, with opportunities to encounter a rich variety of birds, capybaras, caimans and other iconic Pantanal wildlife. A scenic lunch will be enjoyed en route before arriving at Hotel Porto Jofre in the early afternoon.
Following check-in, and depending on our arrival time and weather conditions, we may enjoy a short introductory boat excursion, offering our first glimpse into the remarkable wildlife of the Pantanal.

Day 3 – Jaguar Photography by Boat
Spend your first full day exploring the rivers and waterways surrounding Porto Jofre aboard a private boat in search of wild jaguars.
This region offers the finest jaguar photography opportunities in the world, and our experienced guides and boat drivers will adapt the day’s route according to recent sightings and wildlife activity to maximise photographic opportunities.
Besides jaguars, expect encounters with Giant Otters, capybaras, caimans and an incredible diversity of birdlife. We’ll return to the hotel for lunch and a short break before heading back onto the water during the afternoon.

Day 4 – Jaguar Photography by Boat
Enjoy another full day exploring the rivers of Porto Jofre by private boat. Every day in the Pantanal is different, with changing wildlife activity creating new photographic opportunities.

Continue exploring the waterways surrounding Porto Jofre in search of jaguars and other iconic Pantanal wildlife.

Day 7 – Final Boat Safari and Transfer to Pousada Piuval
After breakfast, check out before enjoying one final morning boat safari. Following lunch, transfer to Pousada Piuval (approximately 4 hours). Keep your camera accessible as wildlife sightings along the road are always possible.

Day 8 – Safari at Pousada Piuval
Spend a full day exploring Pousada Piuval in a private open safari vehicle in search of Giant Anteaters, foxes, deer, birds and other wildlife.

Day 9 – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Cuiabá Airport (CGB) for your onward flight.
