Snow Leopard Safari

Snow Leopard Safari

Snow Leopard Safari

This is a unique tour that gives you a chance to experience Snow Leopards in the Wild.

Snow Leopards are some of the most difficult animals to spot in the wild. They usually live at altitudes over 15,000-16,000ft in summers and prey mostly on Bharals or Mountain goats, Ibex, Himalayan Thar and Markhors. During the winters, all their prey come down to lower altitudes in search of grass and with them the Snow Leopards too start coming down. That is the best chance for us to sight them. India has approximately 500 – 600 Snow Leopards. Along with the Snow Leopards you also get to witness the Buddhist civilizations of Key Monastery and the winters of Spiti Valley.

In recent times, Kibber Wildlife sanctuary has been a great spot to find Snow Leopards, the Himalayan Red Fox, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Ibex and other mammals. It is also an abode to several species of birds like the Golden Eagle, different species of vultures and many migratory birds. Being on the move on the Snow Leopard Trek in Ladakh, one encounters surprises at each turn. The trek allows one to get acquainted with the folklore of Rumbak Valley. It thus brings one to an indigenous territory astir over the savage breath in the midst of the cold desert and gust of freezing wind.

Tigers and Wildlife of Ranthambore

Tigers and Wildlife of Ranthambore

Tigers and Wildlife of Ranthambore Safari

Deriving its name from the pictorial fort inside, the Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s most renowned national parks. Located where the Aravali Range and plateau of the Vindhyas meet, Ranthambore National Park was once where the royals of Jaipur hunted. The national park is also considered a prominent heritage site due to the ancient ruins found inside.

The town of Sawai Madhopur is the gateway to the national park with a thriving biodiversity set among ancient religious structures, several man-made lakes and aesthetically-crumbling cenotaphs.

Although flanked by the Banas River to the north and the Chambal River to the south, the many lakes inside are not fed by either of the rivers’ waters. Having been declared a national park in 1980 with focus on protection of the endangered tiger, adjacent forests were merged with the Ranthambore National Park a little more than a decade later. The Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and Kaldevi Sanctuary became part of the tiger reserve, making the national park at Ranthambore one of India’s largest.

You are bound to be enthralled to watch the splendid tiger roam about in its natural habitat, in the wild! Alternating between dry deciduous forests and swathes of grasslands, the Ranthambore National Park is recognised as one of the best places in the country to spot tigers. Today, sprawling across a little more than 1300 square kilometres including core and buffer area, the Ranthambore National Park is every wildlife enthusiast, photographer and a spirited traveller’s haven.

Masai Mara Migration Safari

Masai Mara Migration Safari

Masai Mara Migration Safari

The Mara, as it’s popularly referred to, is Kenya’s most frequented wildlife viewing area. Situated about 180 kms from Nairobi the name means “Spotted Plain” in the language of the Maasai, the colorful and interesting tribe which inhabits the surrounding areas. During the seasonal migrations, the Mara is home to up to half a million Wildebeest and an equally impressive number of Zebras who move into the area from neighboring Tanzania.

These large numbers of animals give rise to a proportionate number of predators, especially the big cats. Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and Hyena roam the vast grassy plains on the lookout for their next meal. It may be an unsuspecting impala or gazelle or even something small like a warthog or African hare. Whatever the players, the spectacle of nature unfolding is always awesome. Here it’s also possible to observe; Elephant, Giraffe, Baboon, African buffalo, Eland, Ostrich, Bat-eared fox, Jackal and sometimes the rare Rhino. The rivers abound with Hippos and Crocodiles. All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film and enjoy yourselves!

From June through November, the plains are dry and the great herds gone. This is the time when the resident animals converge around Ndutu’s waterholes and marshes – elephants, giraffes, impalas, every kind of cat and a profusion of birds. Wet season or dry, there is lots to see, and you will never feel just one of a herd

MalaMala Luxury Safari

MalaMala Luxury Safari

MalaMala Luxury Safari

MalaMala Game Reserve offers some of the very best wildlife photographic opportunities on the planet and is the safari industry’s blueprint for the luxury photographic safari. In existence since 1927, this massive, thriving tract of land offers the most exciting wildlife experience this side of the equator. MalaMala Game Reserve is one of the largest private Big Five game reserves in South Africa comprising  13 200 ha (33 000 acres), MalaMala shares a 19 km (12 mile) unfenced boundary with the world-famous Kruger National Park (KNP) and lies strategically sandwiched between the KNP and the Sabi Sand Reserve. Importantly, MalaMala has 20 kms (13 miles) of Sand River frontage. This perennial river acts as a magnet for animals in this pristine wildlife area and is the foundation of MalaMala’s unrivalled game viewing and wildlife experience.

Preserving and protecting the environmental integrity of this special piece of Africa has always been at the core of MalaMala’s existence. This philosophy has paid off and international photojournalists and film-makers have made MalaMala their wildlife destination of choice. MalaMala’s river frontage, running north to south, is the lifeblood of the reserve and acts as a natural drawcard for animals, especially in the dry winter months. The wildlife moves from the Kruger National Park, across MalaMala, to the river and back again, resulting in two-way traffic across the reserve where we conduct our safaris. There is no shared traversing on 70% of the MalaMala property allowing guests to enjoy exclusive, uninterrupted game drives. There is no time limit on sightings and no “queue-to-view” on this enormous tract of land. Due to the superior environmental policies of MalaMala over a long period of time, the land has remained in pristine condition resulting in a prolific abundance of tertiary grasses. This attracts the herbivores which in turn attracts the predators.

Itinerary

Guests will be met and upon arrival be briefed about the exciting day’s ahead. We reach the beautiful MalaMala Lodge to check in and explore surroundings.
Guests will be awoken to warm drinks and a light breakfast before proceeding in search of Africa’s amazing wildlife. After
breakfast we head off to a safari, where the vast wildlife species can be seen and photographed. The photographer would be available throughout the day. Especially known for it’s Leopard and Lion sightings, MalaMala is a beautiful landscape. Lunch will then be served and the same routine will be carried out as in day one with extraordinary sightings and sunsets.
An early start before we bid farewell. We set off to one last Safari drive before departing MalaMala Reserve. Guest would begin packing and leave the lodge with many happy memories and wonderful images.
