Kruger Big 5 Safari- 7 Day
Simply the best that Kruger has to offer! This is a wildlife enthusiast’s dream, especially those who seek to capture images of the region and the flora and fauna that are found here.
On this 7-day, 6-night tour, you’ll have the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time in the bush, where we begin by exploring the southern section of the park. Moving northwards, you’ll be changing locations every two days, allowing you take in the dynamic habitats of both animal, bird, and plant life – all while experiencing life in the bush from a very rustic, South African perspective.
Itinerary
Depart from Johannesburg at approximately 7:00 a.m. or from the city of Nelspruit at around 12:30 p.m. for Kruger National Park. From Johannesburg, the trip takes approx. 5-6 hours, allowing for a comfort break. The drive will take us through the Drakensburg foothills and along the scenic areas of the Mpumalanga province. Your vehicle is air-conditioned, with an experienced driver at the wheel.
Upon arrival at the gate of the park, we switch to an open safari vehicle.
Game viewing begins – Get acquainted with the Kruger Park environment and look out for the Big 5, along with kudu, impala, warthog, giraffe, hippo, hyena, zebra, and nyala.
Arrival at the rest camp at approx. 6 p.m. and check-in to accommodation. Enjoy a room with en-suite bathroom and all amenities.
A selection of meals and drinks is provided at the camp restaurant, where we unwind after a long day.
Primetime game viewing begins early in the morning after a coffee picker-upper and a rusk or two. During dawn and dusk, predators are on the move, so there’s a great chance to spot leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and lions.
Return to camp at around 10:00 a.m. for brunch – prepared by your guide.
Time for a little rest and relaxation.
The game drive continues until approx. 6 p.m. as we make it back before the camp gates close for the night.
Dinner is served – either at the camp restaurant or prepared by your guide.
Prepare your gear since we leave for the next camp the next morning.
Today’s itinerary is very similar to the previous day. After experiencing the wilderness first-hand yesterday, you’ll now have a better idea of how much time you’d like to spend out on safari.
Depending on sightings, weather, and how each day goes, we can vary the routine according to your needs.
As an option, we can visit more picnic spots and have a bush breakfast instead of returning to camp.
Maximising the time spent in the bush can be made priority. With shops and toilet facilities available at many spots, we’ll be able to do this easily.
Return to camp before gates close at around 6 p.m. in the evening.
Rest and relaxation is followed by dinner, served by our staff.
Dinner is usually in the form of a South African favourite – braai (a barbecue classic, in the truest South African sense).
Get your gear ready to change camps today.
