Casa Da Pesca
Western Mozambique, where the sun always shines and the fish always bite, is home to Casa Da Pesca, a hidden gem situated on a secluded island on Lake Cahora Bassa. The lodge is a utopian getaway for anglers looking to catch the famed, fierce tigerfish of the lake fresh from the Zambezi.
Lake Cahora Bassa is a magnificent sight, surrounded by deep gorges, immaculate forests, and featuring several rivers and inlets. Casa Da Pesca overlooks the beautiful Cahora Bassa Gorge. The area surrounding the lodge offers four river inlets, plenty of pinnacles, several remote islands, and endless fishing opportunities in water that trembles with activity.
Casa Da Pesca is relaxed and inviting with five comfortable en-suite rooms, a swimming pool, an entertainment, lounge and dining area, and braai venues looking out at the beautiful scenery. The lodge’s experienced guides ferry guests in five fishing boats to the best spots on the lake and dam. Fly-anglers will have the best fishing in February and March, while December and January are great for fishing off pinnacles and islands.
Easy on the pocket, this fishing getaway offers trophy tigerfish on the budget and is truly memorable.
The lodge is accessible via road and sky. Soft roaders (cars with 4×4 capabilities) are suggested for the drive which takes you through Zimbabwe via Tete to the waters’ edge. Alternatively, guests can fly from Johannesburg to Tete Airport and catch transfers to the banks of the lake. Here you will meet your host and travel by boat to the island.
